How To Order Cheap Eyeglasses

A couple of years ago, I bought two pairs of eyeglasses in the store. You know, got the eye exam, took the prescription into a eyeglasses store, and tried on a gazillion pairs of frames. And by the time I had checked out, I had paid a gazillion dollars for two frames. I have since lost one of those pairs of glasses but still feel like I need a second pair. I have had to take a pay cut at work, so I don't want to spend that much money again.

I read an article that talked about how you could get cheap but quality eyeglasses on the web from Zenni Optical for as low as $8. http://www.examiner.com/x-28795-Brooklyn-Liberal-Examiner~y2009m11d13-Cheap-eyeglasses-are-a-reality-Check-out-Erics-review-of-Zenni-Optical
The author had gotten several pairs of glasses that way and seems to really like them. I looked at their website and liked what I saw. They said they don't have designer frames, but they look pretty nice to me. You still have to get an eye exam and send the prescription in, but it looks like you can save lots of money on the frames. The shipping cost is a low $4.95, but apparently it can take a while to get the glasses (they are coming from China). But you can't have everything right? If you have the time to wait on a pair of glasses, you might want to look into this. If you need a pair within the hour, you'll have to go to the eyeglasses store at the mall.
