Selling Your Gold Jewelry

Times are tough, and the financial news just keeps getting worse and worse. I couldn't believe the news yesterday about AIG. Unbelieveable. Isn't anyone minding the store at all anymore? I am afraid to look at my 401K balance and in fact will not until things get a little better.

Many people, including me, are looking for big and small ways to earn some extra cash. I have been doing a little freelance writing and also some mystery shopping. The mystery shopping so far has been lucrative for me.

If I had some gold jewelry that was not meaningful to me anymore, I would sell it. Apparently, you can get good money if you sell gold. I can imagine two scenarios where I would sell jewelry: 1) I just happened to have a lot of gold jewelry, and some of it wasn't important to me, or 2) I had gold jewelry from a previous marriage or relationship and wanted to get rid of the baggage and memories. In either case, cash for gold would be a good option.

Like many though, I would wonder where I could go to sell gold or sell diamonds. I would not feel comfortable going to a pawn shop.

Wall Street Mess

I refuse to look at my 401K balances until some of the financial mess clears up. I am afraid I would freak out, and nothing good would come of that. How in the world do we get in such messes? The most recent ones were the dot-com mess, the Enron type messes, and now this. And people say the government is incompetent? Business hasn't looked too good lately......
